roves and roams is curating Pinching Until Skin Deep by Robert Luzar, unique to the debut of WAM Festival – a new Reading-based festival which celebrates weather, art and music.

Robert Luzar’s projects have been presented through a series of live art events and exhibitions in the UK and Europe. After completing his Masters degree at Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2005 his artistic activities have included: being short listed for art prizes The Open West (2009), and The Creekside Open (2011), participation in the UK travelling exhibition project Openended (2008), a commission to create a durational performance-drawing at the Making Sense conference supported by Jean Luc Nancy (2009), and group exhibitions curated by Franko B Can You Hear It at Nunnery Gallery (2010) and Edward Lucie Smith at London International (2011).

A durational, and labour intensive performance Pinching Until Skin Deep uses pigment and paper to record movements and behaviours influenced by environmental activities.

WAM, the brand new Festival of Weather, Art and Music comes to Reading Town Hall and Forbury Gardens for the first time during Jubilee Weekend, 1 to 3rd June, 2012. This unique event celebrates Reading’s position as a global centre of meteorology and its rich artistic and musical heritage with a wide range of events for all ages.
